Dr. X. Lin graduated from China Medical University in 1985, from graduate school of China Medical University in 1988 and graduate school of Chinese Academy of Medical Sciences/Peking Union Medical College in 1991. He went to Mayo Clinic for postdoctoral training in 1992 and then worked as Senior Research Fellow from 1993 to 1998. He worked as Assistant Professor/Research Associate from 1998 to 2002. He received Pathology residency from 2002 to2006 and Cytopathology fellowship from 2006 to 2007 at Allegheny General Hospital, Pittsburgh, PA. He obtained AP and CP certificates in 2006 and Cytopathology certificate in 2007.

 

Since completion of fellowship training in 2007, Dr. Lin has been working at Northwestern University as an Assistant Professor and then Associate Professor in Pathology to work in Divisions of Cytology and Surgical Pathology. He also enjoys clinical translational research and has obtained many external and internal research funds. His main research interests include genomic mutations and immunoprofiling of neoplasms, and cytomorphology of fine needle aspiration and body fluid as well as histomorphology.He published more than 50 manuscripts in peer-reviewed journals and a few book/book chapters.
