Dr. Gurudutta Gangenahalli, FICS, FNA Biol Sci’s, FICI (Ire), FRAM (Ire), FRSC(UK), FRSB (UK), FRSM (UK), presently he is Scientist ‘G’, Additional Director & Founding Head of the Division of Stem Cell Research at Institute of Nuclear Medicine and Allied Sciences (INMAS), DRDO, Delhi, India. He has been a driving force behind few original & novel discoveries in stem cell area in DRDO, especially in understanding the therapeutic potential human stem cell fate response signalling, such as Apoptosis, Adherence, Osteogenesis, Differentiation, Homing, by using Genetic-engineering of human stem cell genes (of CD34, BCL-2, CXCR4, PU.1, SCFr/c-Kit, APC, OSx, Wntetc) & by High-throughput gene-expression analysis, and also, developing the human stem cell shielding formulations & NMR stem cell tracking methods. This work constitutes the basis to facilitate the fate modifications strategies, and to develop new and effective fate modifying molecules which enhance stem cell regenerative potentials bringing their effective applications closer to bench-to-Bed side, particularly for injury treatment of Defence interest.
