Phani Veeranki is an Assistant Professor in the Department of Preventive Medicine and Community Health at the University of Texas Medical Branch, Galveston. Dr. Veeranki received his medical degree from the N.T.R University of Health Sciences, his MPH from the University of Illinois and his DrPH with specialization in epidemiology from the East Tennessee State University College of Public Health. He also completed a fellowship in pediatric health outcomes research at the Vanberbilt University Medical Center. Dr. Veeranki’s interest is in understanding “The early origins of disease” with focus on the prevention and control of chronic diseases. His current research interests include chronic disease epidemiology, epidemiology of respiratory and cardiovascular diseases, adolescent tobacco use behaviors, pediatric epidemiology, pharmacoepidemiology and global health.
