Biography

Dr. A.K. Srivastava, having received his M.Sc.(Ag) and Ph.D in Soil Science from world famous Banaras Hindu University, in 1984 and 1988, respectively, is currently perched as Principal Scientist (Soil Science) at Central Citrus Research Institute (Formerly, National Research Centre for Citrus, Nagpur under Indian Council of Agricultural Research, New Delhi. He has extensively pursued research work on different aspects of citrus nutrition like nutrient constraints analysis of citrus orchards by developing DRIS-based soil-plant nutrient diagnostics, orchard efficiency modelling, targeted yield-based site specific nutrient management exploiting spatial variability in soil fertility, citrus rhizosphere specific microbial consortium and soil carbon loading, INM module, fertigation scheduling, nutrient mapping using geospatial tools, nutrient dynamic studies, transformation of soil microbial biomass nutrients within citrus rhizosphere and soil fertility map as decision support tool for fertilizer recommendation. Handled 30 projects and 13 Principal Investigator and 17 projects as Co-Principal Investigator, exclusively on FRUIT NUTRITION.


Dr. Srivastava is credited with large of publications including 124 Research Papers (82 papers in Indian Journals and 42 papers in Foreign Journals) and 43 Policy Review Papers (30 in Indian Journals and 13 in Foreign Journals) and Awards like S.N. Ranade Award for Excellence in Micronutrient Research, FAI Silver Jubilee Award, International Plant Nutrition Institute-FAI Award, Netaji Subhash Chandra Bose Award for Excellence, National Magnum Foundation Award for Excellence, Bharat Jyoti Award, Best Citizen Award etc. in addition of biography appeared in two world famous biographical compilations


Dr. Srivastava is Life Member of as many as 27 Academic Societies besides Honorary Member of World Association of Soil and Water Conservationists. Author of books like Citrus: Soil and Climate, Citrus Nutrition published by IBDC, Lucknow and Editor of book entitled Advances in Citrus Nutrition by Springer-Verlag, Netherlands. Inducted as Fellow of 9 Professional Academic Societies (Maharashtra Academy of Sciences, National Environmental Science Academy, Environmental Research Academy, Indian Society of Citriculture, Indian Society of Soil Science, Indian Society of Agricultural Chemists, Confederation of Horticultural Associations of India and National Academy of Biological Sciences).  


Dr. Srivastava is Editor-in-Chief of Research Journal on Earth Sciences and International Journal of Horticultural and Crop Science Research; Honorary Editor, Agricultural Science Digest; Executive Editor, Agritechnology; Regional Editor of International Journal of Food, Agriculture and Environment; Associate Editor of Agronomy Journal, and Advances in Horticultural Science and Member of Editorial Board of 47 other international journals including the Journal of Plant Nutrition and Communications in Soil Science and Plant Analysis (Taylor & Francis, USA) and 9 national journals. He is regular Paper Setter on advance courses on Soil Fertility and Soil Chemistry across 6 Agricultural Universities in India. He is Member of the Management Committee of two ICAR based organizations, NRC on Seed Spices, Ajmer, Rajasthan and NRC on Pomegranate, Solapur, Maharashtra, Indian Institute of Vegetable Research, Varanasi, Uttar Pradesh and Technical Advisory Committee, Central Institute of Horticulture, Nagaland, India. He is the Panel Member of Committee Constituted by Ministry of Agriculture, Govt. of India, New Delhi for Codex Standards for Organic Farming and Integrated Nutrient Management.


He was invited as Citrus Expert by Govt. of Nepal in 1999 under Indo-Nepal MOU and Keynote Speaker in World Citrus Congress held at Wuhan, China in 2008.
