Professor Guraya SY FRCS is a certified minimally invasive surgeon with special interest in colorectal and bariatric surgery. Recently, he has been awarded the Masters in Medical Education by the University of Dundee UK. He is an active member of the European Association of Endoscopic Surgery (EAES), European Association of Science Editors (EASE), and World Association of Medical Editors (WAME). Guraya SY is supervisor of the postgraduate affairs of the surgical residents, coordinator of the faculty development program, and member of the curriculum, quality assurance, and examination committees of the faculty of medicine. He has tutored several workshops about scholarly writing, Endnote use, Statistical Analysis by SPSS and NVIVO and for enhancements of writers and publishers skills. Guraya SY has authored about 95 research articles in international biomedical journals, peer reviewer of more than 20 journals, Deputy Editor in Chief of J Taibah Univ Med Sc (Elsevier), Executive Editor J of Microscopy and Ultra structure (Elsevier), Section Editor of Education in Medicine, senior editorial board member of British Journal of Medicine and Medical Sciences, Middle East Journal of Cancer, and Int’l Journal of Tropical Sciences.
