I am an assistant professor in Health Policy and Management at the Institute of Public Health at Florida A & M University. I received my PhD in Health Policy and Administration from the University of Illinois at Chicago (UIC). My dissertation work converged around understanding why patients fail to comply with treatment i.e. patients who left the hospital against medical advice (AMA) from US general hospitals. I was awarded an MPH degree from UIC in Health Policy and Administration and a MS in Biology from the American University of Beirut, Lebanon. I completed two years of post-doctoral training in health economics and outcomes research (HEOR). The focus of my fellowship experience has been on demonstrating the value-proposition of pharmaceutical compounds using economic, humanistic, and clinical outcomes. My research interests integrate health disparities, health outcomes in cancer research, treatment compliance, health related quality of life, patient reported outcomes (PRO) research, mental health, quality of care, patient safety, and patient-physician decision making.
