Lawrence Gettleman is professor of prosthodontics & biomaterials at the University of Louisville’s School of Dentistry (Retired). His interests are in restorative and prosthodontic metals, ceramics, polymers, and elastomers, and in clinical trial design. He holds degrees from Rutgers, Harvard, and St. Louis Universities and has served on the full-time faculties or staff in the U.S. Public Health Service, Harvard School of Dental Medicine, LSU School of Dentistry, Gulf South Research Institute, and the University of Louisville. He been in academic dentistry and private clinical practice during his career, and has been principal investigator or coinvestigator on nine NIH-funded research projects. He holds three U.S. patents on a permanent resilient denture liner, Novus®, sold by White Square Chemical, Inc.
