Dr. Kang serves as PI in clinical trials mainly involving restorations materials and clinical methods.  He also oversees both clinical as well as bench research projects focused on dental materials and devices evaluation and development.  Bench studies within the Center focus on development and characterization of new biomimetic and bioactive dental biomaterials.  Dr. Kang works extensively with students in a mentorship capacity. He sits on several thesis committees for postdoctoral and postgraduate students, and is responsible for designing protocols, writing proposals, analyzing data, interacting with external research sponsors, presenting results, and publishing scholarly articles. Dr. Kang received his B.S in Biomedical Engineering from Northwestern University.  He received his Ph. D. in Biomedical Engineering with a concentration in Biomaterial from the University of Iowa.  He received his D.M.D from Tufts University School of Dental Medicine.
